Welcome to BØF.
A link between traditional farming practices and your kitchen.
Our Story
The name BØF comes from the Danish word for beef, this is inspired by my maternal grandfather who owned and worked a mixed farm. My mother continues farming today, having moved from Denmark to Scotland where she breeds sheep for both meat and yarn.
The intention for BØF is to act as a link between farmers and your home.
With growing concerns over meat consumption and the environmental impact of farming, to justify eating beef, we must be choosing from the highest welfare farms and choose farming practices that give more back to the soil than it takes out.
Regenerative farming practices are not new in Britain but mirror the way we produced food before the Second World War. Many farmers continue these practices, championing small hardy breeds that are gentle on the ground, outdoors all year round and require nothing more than grass, hay and silage.
Many chefs and home cooks want to have this produce, however, they do not have the time to search for small producers or specialist breeds. So BØF has done the work for you.

Simple & Honest
We source meat directly from farmers wherever possible, buying the whole carcass not just the prized cuts. By sourcing our meat this way we know exactly where it has come from. This means the offering in our counters will vary from week to week depending on the ageing process. We may not always be fully stocked on ribeyes but there will be a lesser-known cut for you to try and we think they are all equally delicious.
Every cut is butchered on-site at our shop in Frome. Our bacon is made in house, dry cured without nitrates. We have created our own recipes for sausages using organic, gluten free oats, whole spices, sea salt and fresh herbs. This means you won't find our sausages anywhere else and they contain no preservatives or ingredients you couldn’t find in your own kitchen.
